Scotch® Strapping Tape 8896 is a non-filament strapping tape featuring a 4.6 mil stiff polypropylene backing and a synthetic rubber adhesive. The smooth blue backing contains no embedded fibers, distinguishing it from traditional reinforced strapping tapes and making it easier to cut and apply by hand during high-pace packaging operations.
This tape is well matched to bundling, flap sealing, and transit reinforcement in warehousing, manufacturing, and distribution environments. The synthetic rubber adhesive develops a firm bond on corrugated, metal, plastic, and glass surfaces, and is formulated to resist staining on painted, metal, plastic, and glass substrates — reducing surface damage risk during shipping and unpacking.
